ARENA provides up to $25.3 million for NewVolt's electric truck charging network in Victoria
The Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) has committed up to $25.3 million to NewVolt to establish a shared fast-charging network for electric trucks in Victoria. This initiative aims to support the electrification of Australian road freight by building three open-access charging hubs in Melbourne's west, south-east, and northern suburbs. The network will provide fast charging for both foundation fleet customers and the broader industry, supporting between 50 and 100 electric trucks in its first phase. The project is funded through ARENA’s Driving the Nation Program, designed to accelerate emissions reductions in Australia's transport sector and build confidence in electric freight solutions.
