ASML expands existing PPA with RWE to include more offshore wind power

ASML has expanded its existing Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with RWE to include around 130 MW of installed renewable capacity from additional offshore wind farms, including the 219 MW Northwester 2 offshore wind farm located 51 kilometers from shore in the Belgian North Sea. ASML is a technology company that provides lithography systems to the semiconductor industry, with its systems used by chipmakers to mass produce patterns on silicon. RWE is a leading renewable energy company investing billions of euros worldwide in the energy transition, focused on expanding offshore and onshore wind, solar energy, and battery storage. The expanded agreement extends until 2038, with RWE Supply & Trading procuring the full electricity production from Northwester 2 and selling it to its industrial and municipal customers. The Northwester 2 offshore wind farm has been operational since 2020 and is owned by Parkwind, who signed a long-term PPA with RWE in 2019.
