Avantus and Toyota Tsusho complete 159 MW (DC) Norton Solar Project in Texas with VPPA signed between Toyota Tsusho America and Toyota Motor North America

Avantus and Toyota Tsusho America announced the completion of the 159 MW (DC) / 125 MW (AC) Norton Solar Project in Runnels County, Texas, which reached substantial completion in October 2025 and is now operational. Toyota Tsusho America secured a long-term virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Toyota Motor North America for the full output of the facility. The project, developed by Avantus and constructed by RES under an EPC contract, created nearly 250 jobs during peak construction. This VPPA supports Toyota's corporate sustainability goals by delivering renewable energy equivalent to powering over 25,000 homes annually. Avantus continues to advance a development pipeline of approximately 24 GW (DC) solar and 75 GWh of energy storage across the western United States.
