Blue Elephant Energy reached financial close with Commerzbank for the 268 MWp Schafhöfen ground-mounted solar park in the district of Regensburg, Bavaria, Germany. Commerzbank acted as the sole lender for the project, which will be built across approximately 200 hectares in the municipality of Mötzing. Once operational in September 2027, the solar park is expected to generate around 300 GWh of clean electricity annually, supplying approximately 100,000 households and avoiding 103,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year. The project’s long-term revenue profile is supported by a power purchase agreement (PPA) with DB Energie, which will supply renewable power to Deutsche Bahn’s rail power network. The PPA, announced in December 2025, was a key factor in securing the project financing.
