Production of the new high-voltage battery system will be established in Croatia, marking Rimac Technology’s first large-scale manufacturing initiative for automotive battery cells. The Gen6 cells will power the BMW i7, which is scheduled to debut at Auto China 2026, positioning BMW as a leader in next-generation EV battery technology. Rimac Technology, known for its high-performance battery systems used in hypercars like the Rimac Nevera, will leverage its expertise in cell chemistry and pack design to deliver the advanced battery solution.
