C3ntro Telecom secures $5,000 million financing for Tikva fiber-optic network to connect Querétaro and Arizona
C3ntro Telecom secured $5,000 million in syndicated debt financing from PROPARCO and DEG (KfW Group) to deploy 2,500 kilometers of underground fiber-optic cable between Querétaro, Mexico, and Phoenix, Arizona, under its Tikva project. The network will traverse 16 cities including Nogales, Guaymas, Ciudad Obregón, and Navojoa, directly benefiting over 27 million people across remote communities, manufacturing, mining, and agriculture sectors. The project includes constructing 30 mini data centers as repeaters to enable local operators and hyperscalers to connect to the network, with 1,200 kilometers already deployed and completion targeted by the end of 2026. The initiative aligns with Mexico's 'Plan México' certification for 'Hecho en México,' accelerating permitting by validating local sourcing and execution. Eli Sitt, CEO of C3ntro Telecom, emphasized the project's role in capitalizing on nearshoring trends as hyperscalers like Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Oracle, and Meta expand data center operations in Mexico.
