CleanCapital sells 120 MW Nottingham Solar brownfield project to Energix Renewables
New York-based independent power producer CleanCapital finalized the sale of the 120 MW Nottingham Solar project to Virginia-based Energix Renewables. Located on a former coal strip mine in Harrison County, Ohio, the brownfield solar development has an expected energization date of January 1, 2027. CleanCapital CEO Thomas Byrne stated the transaction would allow the company to focus its distributed generation portfolio, while Energix Renewables chief business development officer Oren Hazan emphasized the project's alignment with their U.S. utility-scale solar expansion strategy. The sale follows CleanCapital's recent $300 million HoldCo debt financing from Infranity and $185 million private placement debt issuance to support its DG asset growth. Energix Renewables currently operates 640 MW of assets and maintains a U.S. development pipeline exceeding 6.5 GW.
