Critical Loop raises $26 million Series A and agrees to source LG Energy Solution Vertech battery storage products
Critical Loop, a Los Angeles-based startup specializing in modular microgrid solutions, closed a $26 million Series A funding round led by Conifer Infrastructure Partners and Hanover, with participation from Better Ventures, Climate Capital, Adapt Nation Capital, and Cyrus Ventures. The company also announced a binding supply agreement with LG Energy Solution Vertech to source domestically manufactured energy storage products for its microgrid systems. The funding will accelerate the deployment of Critical Loop’s modular microgrid technology, which combines battery storage, power generation, and proprietary software-defined controllers to connect industrial clients to power faster than traditional grid interconnection methods. Critical Loop’s Cygnus controller and CLB-5100 1 MW battery system are designed to operate autonomously, managing diverse power sources to maintain site reliability while utilities complete permanent grid upgrades. The company targets industrial load demand driven by AI data centers and industrial electrification, positioning its technology as a solution for grid capacity constraints in high-demand regions like California.
