Crusoe is expanding its Abilene AI data center campus by adding a new 900 MW AI factory facility to support large-scale Microsoft workloads. This expansion, adjacent to Crusoe's existing Abilene development, will bring the total planned capacity to approximately 2.1 GW, making it one of the largest AI-focused data center hubs in the US. The project includes a 900 MW behind-the-meter power plant paired with battery storage, designed to enhance reliability and mitigate grid constraints. This development reflects a fundamental shift in hyperscale design where power availability drives site selection, aligning with Crusoe's "energy-first" blueprint for AI infrastructure.
