Cyan Renewables secures 15-year charter contract with Siemens Gamesa for Hai Long offshore wind farm service operations vessel
Singapore-based offshore wind vessel owner Cyan Renewables signed a 15-year charter contract with Siemens Gamesa to deploy its new service operations vessel (SOV), Cyan Wind Seeker, at the 1,044 MW Hai Long offshore wind farm in Taiwan. The 85.5-metre-long hybrid-diesel electric SOV, built by Vard in Vietnam and delivered ahead of schedule, will support Siemens Gamesa’s operations for 73 SG 14-222 DD wind turbines across the project’s three phases. The Hai Long wind farm, located 45-70 kilometers off the Changhua coast in the Taiwan Strait, is owned by a consortium including Northland Power, Gentari, and Mitsui & Co., with commercial operations expected in 2027. The SOV features fuel-efficient propulsion technology, including Siemens BlueDrive and hybrid battery systems, enabling reduced emissions and quieter operations. The charter agreement, awarded by Siemens Gamesa in early 2024, marks a key operational partnership for the Hai Long project’s maintenance and service logistics.
