Daimler Truck Saltillo and Viva el Sol F1 sign solar self-supply agreement for 3.973 GWp plant in Coahuila
Daimler Truck submitted a new environmental impact assessment for the Green Generation Daimler Truck Saltillo project, a 3.973 GWp solar plant to be built at its Saltillo, Coahuila facility for self-supply. The project, initially rejected in October 2025, now includes 5,558 solar panels of 715 W each mounted on 402 ground-mount structures across 76,337.818 square meters. Viva el Sol F1 will develop the plant with a 12-month construction timeline and an estimated investment of 49.82 million pesos (approximately $2.78 million). The solar array will interconnect via a 310-meter underground medium-voltage line (13.2 kV) and a 290-meter overhead line to Daimler Truck's existing internal substation. The project targets operational energy supply for Daimler Truck's Saltillo manufacturing operations.
