APAC data center developer DayOne signed the largest Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) in Indonesia to date with state-run utility PLN Batam, committing to a 450MW supply for its under-development data center campus in Kabil, Batam. The agreement, delivered via the grid, will supply power in phases between 2026 and 2027, aligning with DayOne's multi-campus strategy to reinforce Batam's role as a Southeast Asian digital infrastructure hub. The PPA covers DayOne's Kabil Industrial Tech Park (KITP) project, which is expected to match the 450MW capacity though exact details remain undisclosed. The collaboration extends beyond power supply, with both firms also inking a non-binding MoU for connectivity and electrical infrastructure services. DayOne, formerly the international unit of Chinese data center firm GDS, rebranded as an independent entity last year and now operates over 500MW of capacity across Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Japan, and Thailand, with additional sites in Finland.
