The collaboration focuses on implementing DeterTech's risk assessments and security measures to help site owners secure better insurance terms, including potential low-claims rebates for incident-free operations. Gallagher emphasized that insurers will now consider DeterTech's security protocols when evaluating risk and setting premiums for renewable energy assets. The partnership targets a 59% year-on-year increase in cable theft incidents at solar, onshore wind, and battery storage sites, which has become a growing concern for the industry. Mark Kubis-Law, corporate account director at DeterTech, highlighted the shared mission to bring peace of mind to communities amid rising criminal sophistication in targeting renewable infrastructure. Carl Gurney, director of renewable energy at Gallagher UK & Ireland, noted that insurers increasingly require robust risk management practices, which this partnership directly addresses.
