Deutsche Windtechnik (DWT) secured operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts for substations at Ørsted’s Greater Changhua offshore wind farms in Taiwan, covering the offshore substation of Greater Changhua 4 and onshore substations of Greater Changhua 2b and 4. The contracts, awarded in collaboration with Ørsted’s local O&M team, mark DWT’s first dedicated offshore substation O&M engagement in Taiwan and strengthen its footprint in the country’s offshore wind O&M market. The Greater Changhua 2b and 4 projects are located 35–60 kilometers off the coast of Changhua County in the Taiwan Strait, with DWT responsible for scheduled and corrective maintenance to ensure reliable substation operations. Hao-Wei Chiu, DWT’s Taiwan country manager, emphasized the strategic importance of Taiwan as a hub for the Asia-Pacific offshore wind market, noting the company’s deliberate decision to establish Taiwan as a regional headquarters. The contracts reflect growing demand for independent service provider-led O&M models offering flexible and cost-optimized solutions in the region.
