Digital Realty and IXPN establish new Internet Exchange Point in Nigeria

Digital Realty and IXPN have partnered to expand Nigeria's peering ecosystem by establishing a new internet exchange point (IXP). This new IXP is located within Digital Realty's recently commissioned Ibeju-Lekki data centre, which also serves as a landing site for the 2Africa subsea cable. The initiative aims to enhance network resilience, reduce internet traffic latency, and promote local data handling. This collaboration seeks to position Lagos as a primary interconnection hub for West Africa and bolster Nigeria's standing in the global digital economy. The activation at the Lekki campus deepens Digital Realty's commitment to connecting the local and regional digital economy to global networks, offering resilient peering for improved operational efficiency and lower latency for customers.
