DNV advises Galp on acquisition of 351MW Spanish onshore wind portfolio from Helia Funds
DNV served as technical advisor to Galp in the acquisition of a 351MW portfolio comprising 17 operational onshore wind farms in Spain from Helia Funds. The transaction required DNV to conduct technical assessments across all 17 sites, including site inspections, operational performance reviews, and energy yield evaluations within a compressed timeline. DNV also performed turbine technology evaluations, remaining useful lifetime analyses, and permitting checks for each asset, with scope extending to repowering potential assessments as Spain's wind fleet ages. Galp, a Portugal-based integrated energy company, operates across oil, natural gas, and renewable power generation and marketing. The deal represents Galp's strategic expansion in Spain's renewable energy sector through the acquisition of operational assets rather than new developments.
