DNV provides technical due diligence for Cubico Uruguay’s refinancing of 75MW wind and solar portfolio
DNV completed technical due diligence to support Cubico Sustainable Investments in refinancing a 75MW renewable energy portfolio in Uruguay, combining the operational 50MW Vientos de Pastorale wind farm with the 25MW Alto Cielo solar project. The engagement included energy yield assessments, operational performance reviews, technology analysis, and evaluations of contracts and power purchase agreements for the unified financing structure. DNV also conducted environmental, social, and permitting reviews to assess long-term performance and risk resilience for the blended assets. The refinancing integrated two projects with distinct operational histories and financial arrangements into a single framework, requiring independent validation of technical conditions and performance expectations. Brice Le Gallo, DNV’s vice-president and regional director for SEMEA & LATAM, energy systems, emphasized the critical role of independent validation in complex transactions involving assets with differing financial and operational backgrounds.
