Dongfeng Cuba develops and executes EV charging network with photovoltaic integration across multiple Cuban provinces
Dongfeng Cuba, the Cuban commercial arm of Dongfeng Motor Corporation, announced the development and execution of a nationwide electric vehicle (EV) charging network integrated with photovoltaic (PV) systems across multiple Cuban provinces. The project spans key locations including Pinar del Río, Miramar (Havana), Varadero, Camagüey, Holguín, and Santiago de Cuba, with intermediate charging points at kilometer markers 79, 177, 259, and 336 along major road corridors. Each station will incorporate on-site solar generation to supply part of the charging demand, reducing reliance on Cuba's national grid amid persistent electricity supply constraints. The initiative aligns with Dongfeng Cuba's local market strategy, which includes the commercialization of electric vehicles such as the Vigo EV, BOX 01 EV 430, Sky EV, and Eπ 007 EV, targeting diverse usage segments from urban mobility to daily commuting. Dongfeng Motor Corporation operates as an importer and distributor of vehicles in Cuba, with a growing focus on expanding its electric vehicle infrastructure portfolio.
