Elgin secures £500 million financing package for 1 GW UK solar and battery pipeline
Elgin secured a financing package of up to £500 million from a syndicate of banks to support the construction of approximately 1 GW of solar and energy storage capacity in the UK. The package will fund the build-out of projects scheduled to be energized over the coming years, with all assets targeted to be operational before 2030. The lender group includes BNP Paribas, Siemens Bank, Société Générale, Standard Chartered, and NatWest, with NatWest also acting as sole structuring and coordinating bank. This funding will support the delivery of Elgin's near-term solar and co-located projects, accelerating its contribution to the UK’s energy transition. Watson Farley & Williams advised Elgin on the transaction, while DLA Piper acted for the lenders.
