Energy tech startup Emerald AI secured $25 million in a strategic expansion financing round to scale its solutions for aligning data center energy consumption with grid capacity. The funding round was led by Energy Impact Partners (EIP) and included participation from Amplo, Eaton, GE Vernova, IQT, Lowercarbon Capital, NVIDIA's venture arm NVentures, Radical Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, and Samsung Ventures. This capital infusion will support Emerald AI's mission to help data centers act as flexible grid resources, reducing power consumption during periods of grid strain, a critical need as the AI industry plans to bring nearly 50GW of data centers online in the U.S. over the next three years. The company's Emerald AI Conductor platform enables AI data centers to flexibly adjust their power consumption on demand, orchestrating computing loads to bolster grid reliability while meeting performance standards.
