Enercon secures 161MW wind turbine supply agreement with Polat Enerji for Balıkesir 1 wind farm in Türkiye
German wind turbine manufacturer ENERCON finalized a contract with Turkish renewable energy developer Polat Enerji to supply 23 E-175 EP5 E2 turbines for the 161MW Balıkesir 1 wind farm in Türkiye. The agreement, signed in Istanbul on April 27, 2026, marks the latest collaboration between the two companies, bringing their joint installed wind capacity in Türkiye to over 1GW. Each turbine has a rated power of 7.0MW, and construction is scheduled to commence in September 2027 with commercial operation expected by December 2027. The project is part of Türkiye's YEKA 5 tender program, which aims to accelerate renewable energy deployment through competitive bidding. ENERCON CEO Udo Bauer highlighted the long-standing partnership with Polat Enerji, emphasizing their combined achievement of surpassing 1GW of installed wind capacity in the country.
