Energias do Acre SPE Ltda secured a contract from Aneel to develop five hybrid power plants in Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre, combining solar photovoltaic and thermal generation with a total installed capacity of 20 MW. The projects were awarded through a regulated auction to supply isolated systems not connected to Brazil's National Interconnected System (SIN), addressing energy supply gaps in remote northern regions. The hybrid plants will integrate solar PV with thermal generation to ensure continuous power delivery to off-grid communities in Acre. Construction is expected to proceed following Aneel's regulatory approval published in the Official Federal Gazette on April 15, 2026. The initiative aligns with Brazil's broader strategy to expand energy access in isolated areas through hybrid renewable solutions.
