ENGIE acquires 30 MW Kamionka wind farm from BayWa r.e. in Poland
ENGIE signed an agreement to acquire the 30 MW Kamionka wind farm from BayWa r.e., marking a strategic expansion of its renewable energy portfolio in Poland. The operational wind farm, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, has been generating electricity since 2012 using 12 wind turbines, supplying power to approximately 30,000 households annually. The project operates under Poland’s green certificate support scheme, ensuring stable revenue streams for the new owner. Following the acquisition, ENGIE will operate over 400 MW of renewable energy assets in Poland, including onshore wind and solar PV, generating more than 700 GWh of electricity per year. The transaction aligns with ENGIE’s strategy to balance new investments with acquisitions of operational projects, leveraging its expertise in technical and economic optimization of plant performance.
