ENNA Group and Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA) sign MoU for renewable energy cooperation in Azerbaijan

Croatian diversified industrial group ENNA Group is expanding its energy sector focus into Azerbaijan through a new partnership with the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA). The MoU, formalized in Baku on 2026-03-07, establishes a framework for assessing solar and wind investment opportunities within Azerbaijan. This development-stage agreement provides ENNA Group, active in natural gas trading across 15 European countries, a strategic avenue to diversify its energy portfolio into hybrid renewables. The partnership allows ENNA Group to leverage its energy sector experience, potentially extending beyond its current 15 European country footprint. AREA benefits by attracting foreign expertise and capital for its mandate to promote renewable energy development across Azerbaijan. This framework is the first of its kind for a Croatian company in Azerbaijan's renewable energy sector. ENNA Group, established in 2017 with over 2,000 employees, expands its energy sector activities beyond its core natural gas trading operations. This move into hybrid renewable energy development in Azerbaijan aligns with a broader strategy for the group, which also operates in logistics and food sectors. For the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA), a government body under the Ministry of Energy, this partnership directly supports its mandate to promote and oversee renewable energy development within Azerbaijan.
