EQT Infrastructure VII acquires energy and data center developer Copia Power from Carlyle

EQT Infrastructure VII acquired Copia Power from Carlyle in an undisclosed‑value transaction announced on 10 July 2026. Copia Power, founded in 2021, operates more than 2.6 GW of power generation and storage assets and is developing over 9 GW of grid‑connected data centers. The platform combines solar and storage capacity of more than 25 GW with 7 GW of natural‑gas generation and high‑voltage transmission at integrated campuses. The acquisition expands EQT’s infrastructure portfolio, adding to its existing stakes in EdgeConneX, Zayo, Scale and Cypress Creek Energy. EQT Infrastructure VII is the fund vehicle of Swedish investment firm EQT, whose parent company EQT will support the scaling of the energy and digital infrastructure needed for AI and electrification. No advisors or legal counsel were disclosed in the announcement.
