Equinor ASA sold an 8.07% stake in Scatec ASA for NOK 125 per share, totaling approximately NOK 1.6 billion. The transaction reduced Equinor's shareholding from 16.12% to 8.05%, though the company remains a minority shareholder. Equinor initially acquired its stake in Scatec in 2018 and expanded it through multiple purchases between 2019 and 2023 at an average price of NOK 80 per share. The deal includes a 90-day lock-up agreement for Equinor's remaining shares. Despite the divestment, Equinor and Scatec continue their partnership in the Apodi and Mendubim solar projects in Brazil, which remain unaffected by the transaction.
