Ericsson secures 5G Standalone network rollout contract with VTel Wireless in the US

Ericsson secured a contract to provide its 5G Core and RAN technologies to VTel Wireless for the rollout of its 5G Standalone (5G SA) network. This agreement will enable VTel Wireless to become the first US carrier to fully support 5G SA VoNR (Voice over New Radio) roaming with nationwide communications service providers. The deployment will cover rural communities across Vermont, eastern New York, and Western New Hampshire, enhancing connectivity for residents and visitors. This partnership will bolster VTel's nationwide connectivity offering and extend 5G capabilities to remote areas, supporting future spectrum consolidation by removing the need for 3G or 4G networks for voice services.
