European Commission launches Clean Energy Investment Strategy to mobilize private capital for energy transition

The European Commission has launched a Clean Energy Investment Strategy aiming to mobilize €660 billion annually until 2030 for the energy transition across Europe. The strategy seeks to leverage public funding as a catalyst to de-risk projects and attract institutional investors, with the European Investment Bank Group intending to provide over €75 billion in financing over the next three years. Measures include improving access to capital markets for electricity grid operators and exploring the creation of a strategic infrastructure investment fund to provide equity to grid operators.
