The Federal Government of Nigeria formalized a partnership with Siemens Energy to accelerate substation upgrades and new substation construction as part of the Presidential Power Initiative. The collaboration targets a 1,000MW increase in grid capacity, with a specific project including a 480MW substation in Abeokuta. This initiative aims to raise Nigeria's total grid capacity from 4,000MW to 7,000MW, supporting long-term national goals of achieving 25,000MW.
