Fibrus completed the £200 million Project Stratum, delivering full fibre broadband to over 81,000 homes and businesses across Northern Ireland on time and within budget, marking one of the largest telecoms infrastructure projects in the region. The project was funded by the Department for the Economy, DAERA, and the UK Government, enabling rural and underserved areas to achieve 96% superfast broadband access. Following completion, Fibrus was awarded the Project Gigabit NI contract in December 2025 to extend gigabit-capable broadband to an additional 9,000 rural homes and businesses. The initiative directly supported digital transformation in sectors like agriculture, as demonstrated by Littlebridge Farm in Coagh, County Tyrone, which leveraged the new connectivity to install robotic milking systems and launch a connected farm shop. Dominic Kearns, CEO of Fibrus, highlighted the project's role in closing the digital divide and empowering rural communities through enhanced connectivity.
