Framatome and NuScale expand fuel supply and development partnership for VOYGR SMR plants
Framatome and NuScale Power Corporation expanded their partnership to enhance fuel supply and development for NuScale's VOYGR SMR plants, building on a 2020 memorandum of understanding. Framatome will design, qualify, and manufacture fuel assemblies, including lead test assemblies, for NuScale's pressurized water reactor technology, leveraging its facilities in Richland, Washington, and Lingen, Germany. This collaboration aims to de-risk NuScale's fuel supply chain and accelerate the commercialization of its 77 MWe per module reactors, with a fuel qualification program targeting U.S. NRC licensing by 2028.
