Gabon to sign production-sharing contracts with BP and ExxonMobil

Gabon's oil and gas minister Clotaire Kondja announced that the country expects to sign production-sharing contracts with BP and ExxonMobil within four to six months. The agreements will cover exploration activities off Gabon's Atlantic Coast, as both oil majors seek to expand their resource bases in West African waters. BP and ExxonMobil previously signed non-binding preliminary agreements to explore the region. The deals are part of Gabon's efforts to attract international investment in its oil and gas sector amid declining production from mature fields.
