Gasunie subsidiary Hynetwork and Fluxys sign joint development agreement for cross-border hydrogen connection between Netherlands and Belgium

Gasunie subsidiary Hynetwork and Belgium's Fluxys signed a joint development agreement to create a cross-border hydrogen connection between the Netherlands and Belgium. The project may repurpose existing natural gas pipelines and is expected to be completed around 2030. The proposed link between Zeeland (Netherlands) and Antwerp (Belgium) will serve as a bidirectional node connecting import and production sites with industrial demand centers. This infrastructure will enhance hydrogen supply security and market integration between the two countries. The project aligns with Europe's hydrogen backbone initiative to create a pan-European hydrogen network.
