Google commits to develop a 100MW data center campus in LaGrange, Georgia

The project, previously owned by Thor Equities and developed by its data center division Form8ation, involves Google fronting all power and infrastructure costs for the site. Thor Equities acquired the 270-acre site in 2024 but has since withdrawn from the project, leaving Google as the primary developer. The LaGrange City Manager Patrick Bowie emphasized the project's role in filling a void left by the closure of the city's largest electric customer, while Google's regional head of data center public affairs, Jen Ryan, framed the initiative as part of its deep partnership with Georgia. The campus targets 100MW of capacity, positioning Google to further strengthen its hyperscale data center footprint in the southeastern U.S.
