Google Signs 15-Year Offshore Wind Deal
Google has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with EnBW to purchase 100 MW of energy from the He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. The deal supports Google's goal to power its operations with carbon-free energy by 2030. The He Dreiht wind farm, currently under development, will have an installed capacity of 960 MW, making it one of the largest offshore wind projects in Europe. The agreement contributes to Germany's renewable energy supply and accelerates the transition to a more sustainable electricity grid. Google has signed over 170 agreements to purchase over 22 GW of clean energy generation since 2010, demonstrating its commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
