Source Intelligence
Banorte and Hitachi Vantara migrated the company from a data center in Mexico City to a facility in Querétaro, as well as upgrading Banorte's mainframe storage environment. The migration was motivated by a desire to reduce the business risks associated with natural disasters and to "strengthen its digital foundation." The data center migration saw Hitachi and Banorte migrating 450 terabytes of data in less than an hour. The new environment used by Banorte is supported by two mainframes and three interconnected Hitchachi storage arrays. Banorte is also now using Hitachi Vantara Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) systems and Hitachi Universal Replicator (HUR) technologies, and has reduced its transaction response time by 50 percent.
