GSSG Solar and Voltaiyo KK secure refinancing for 104 MW Jupiter Portfolio with SBI Shinsei Bank
GSSG Solar and Voltaiyo KK completed a refinancing deal for the 104 MW Jupiter Portfolio, a legacy feed-in tariff (FIT) solar project portfolio in Japan. The portfolio consists of eight operating projects across four electricity grid areas on Honshu and Kyushu islands, with Colorado-based GSSG Solar acting as the transaction sponsor and Tokyo-based Voltaiyo KK as the operating partner. The refinancing was secured with SBI Shinsei Bank, marking the sixth such transaction between GSSG Solar and the lender. The deal underscores lender confidence in well-managed solar assets as Japan's FIT rates expire, shifting the market toward merchant and corporate power purchase agreements. GSSG Solar Japan Asset Management now manages 223 MW of solar assets in Japan beyond the Jupiter Portfolio, with the refinancing model expected to apply across this broader fleet.
