Haesong Offshore Wind signs localisation MoU with Siemens Gamesa and Doosan Enerbility for Haesong 1 and 3 projects

Partnership Offshore Wind announced South Korea May 1, 2026

Haesong Offshore Wind, a portfolio company of Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and Doosan Enerbility to localize South Korea’s offshore wind supply chain. The agreement focuses on the Haesong Offshore Wind 1 and 3 projects, covering collaboration on technology, procurement, and commercial activities to combine Siemens Gamesa’s offshore wind turbine technology with Doosan’s domestic manufacturing capabilities. Haesong Offshore Wind, established by CIP, plans to develop two 504 MW phases off the west coast of Shinan, Jeonnam, totaling 1 GW when combined with the grid interconnection agreement signed with Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) in June 2025. The partnership builds on prior cooperation between Siemens Gamesa and Doosan Enerbility in South Korea, including nacelle assembly and offshore construction agreements aimed at expanding local content in upcoming offshore wind projects. The collaboration aims to increase industrial participation in the Korean offshore wind sector by leveraging Siemens Gamesa’s turbine expertise and Doosan’s manufacturing scale.
