Helios Towers invests $110M in telecom infrastructure expansion in Democratic Republic of Congo with ANAPI partnership
Helios Towers committed $110 million to expand telecom infrastructure across the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), marking a new phase in its 15-year presence in the country where it already operates nearly 2,800 telecom sites. The investment, formalized in partnership with the DRC's investment promotion agency ANAPI, will accelerate mobile network rollout in both urban and rural areas while enhancing energy and operational resilience. Helios pledged to extend connectivity to underserved regions, develop local skills, and advance sustainable energy initiatives as part of the agreement. The company has invested over $700 million in the DRC since 2011, operating a portfolio of nearly 15,000 towers across nine African markets. Maixent Bekangba, Helios Towers DRC managing director, emphasized the deal's role in unlocking economic growth and digital inclusion through expanded connectivity infrastructure.
