Hyatt and Timberline Real Estate Partners to convert South Congress Hotel to The Standard, Austin
Hyatt announced a collaboration with Timberline Real Estate Partners to convert the South Congress Hotel in Austin, Texas, into The Standard, Austin. This project marks The Standard brand's first U.S. opening in over a decade, with the property expected to open in spring 2027. The revamped hotel will feature social wellness experiences, a rooftop pool, and multiple dining concepts, aiming to function as a lively campus of ideas and experiences. An Austin-based creative team, including Amar Lalvani, former Standard International executive chairman, will lead the renovation and conversion project. The 83-room South Congress Hotel will close for renovations in summer 2026, laying off all employees.
