Inlyte Energy and Ervin Industries Sign Supply Agreement for Domestic Iron Battery Materials

Supply Agreement Storage announced USA Mar 31, 2026

Inlyte Energy has entered into a supply chain agreement with Ervin Industries, a US iron materials manufacturer, to develop iron powder formulas for Inlyte's iron-sodium battery systems. This collaboration aims to bolster Inlyte's domestic materials sourcing and reduce reliance on overseas supply chains, particularly China's dominance in lithium-ion production. Ervin Industries, which produces engineered steel shot, grit, and advanced metal powders from recycled metals, will work with Inlyte to refine iron powder specifications, materials characteristics, and production processes for large-scale battery deployment. The agreement leverages the domestic availability of iron and sodium, contrasting with the concentrated global supply chain for lithium. Inlyte is currently finalizing site selection for its first US production facility, with commercial deliveries planned for 2027.
