Israel orders Energean to resume operations at Karish offshore gas platform following U.S.-Iran ceasefire
Israel's energy ministry instructed Energean to restart operations at the Karish natural gas platform in the Mediterranean Sea following a U.S. ceasefire with Iran. The platform, located off Israel's coast, had been shut down since February 28, 2026, due to safety concerns amid the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. Energean confirmed receipt of the notice and stated it would safely resume production and normal operations in line with its operating procedures. The company's London-listed shares rose 2.4% to 851 pence following the announcement. Earlier in the week, Israel's Leviathan gas field also resumed operations after a month-long shutdown during the conflict.
