Jan De Nul begins seabed preparation for OranjeWind offshore wind farm
Jan De Nul has commenced seabed preparation for the OranjeWind offshore wind project in the Netherlands, marking the initial phase of offshore construction. The company's vessel, Simon Stevin, is installing a filter layer of erosion protection rocks, a critical step before the installation of 53 monopile foundations. This work, loaded from Norway, is expected to conclude in May 2026. OranjeWind, a joint venture between RWE and TotalEnergies, will feature 53 Vestas V236-15 MW wind turbines located approximately 53 kilometers off the coast of IJmuiden. The project is slated for full commissioning in early 2028, with foundation and cable installations scheduled for later in 2026.
