KGAL ESPF 6 Fund and PtX Development acquire majority stake in Lhyfe’s green hydrogen project in Lubmin, Germany
KGAL ESPF 6 Fund and PtX Development completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Lhyfe’s green hydrogen project in Lubmin, Germany, expanding their joint green hydrogen platform. The project targets a potential hydrogen production capacity of up to 1,700 megawatts, with an annual output of up to 160,000 tonnes at full capacity, positioning it as Germany’s largest hydrogen initiative. Located in Lubmin, the project leverages secured land, confirmed grid access, and proximity to GASCADE’s repurposed 'Flow' hydrogen pipeline, which connects Lubmin to Saxony-Anhalt as part of Germany’s hydrogen backbone network. The platform’s strategic location enables direct integration with large-scale renewable power generation and industrial demand centers, facilitating long-term offtake relationships. The acquisition strengthens the partners’ green hydrogen portfolio in Germany, aligning with national decarbonization and energy security goals.
