Kraken Technology Group and NVL Group form joint venture for scalable uncrewed maritime platforms
British defense start-up Kraken Technology Group partnered with NVL Group (Naval Vessels Lürssen), a German shipbuilding group and subsidiary of Rheinmetall, to form a joint venture for scalable uncrewed maritime platforms. The partnership targets global demand for market-ready, scalable autonomous surface vessels for military and civilian applications, including critical infrastructure surveillance. NVL Group will leverage its manufacturing and integration capabilities at its Blohm+Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany, complementing Kraken’s existing UK-based production. Both companies committed substantial investments to scale manufacturing capacities for autonomous surface vessels. The joint venture aims to serve the German and European markets with a range of uncrewed maritime systems.
