LCL Data Centers, a fully Belgian operator, opened its largest data center to date in Diegem, Belgium, on March 26, 2026, marking a strategic expansion to bolster Belgium’s digital sovereignty. The five-story facility, located at Kouterveldstraat 13 in Diegem, is designed to support high-density AI workloads and critical data storage with maximum reliability and uptime, adhering to Belgian and European regulatory standards. The project includes sustainability features such as solar panels integrated into the façade, aligning with LCL’s innovation and environmental strategy. Laurens van Reijen, founder and CEO of LCL Data Centers, emphasized the project’s role in building a Belgian and European digital backbone, ensuring sensitive data remains within local legal frameworks. The data center’s design also incorporates a unique artistic installation, including a floating cloud sculpture on the roof, blending technology with cultural significance.
