Madkour Holding Group and GoGas Holding to build 365 MW gas-fired power plant in Mauritania

The partnership between Egypt's Madkour Holding Group and Poland's GoGas Holding to develop and operate a 365 MW gas-fired power plant in Nouakchott, Mauritania, introduces a new baseload generation source for the national grid. This consortium structure enables the two firms to combine their distinct capabilities for the facility's construction and long-term management. The commitment to both develop and operate the plant suggests a focus on securing sustained revenue streams from Mauritania's power sector, rather than a pure EPC play. Madkour Holding Group, an Egyptian conglomerate with over 40 years of experience as an EPC contractor and developer for power, water, and infrastructure projects, brings extensive project delivery and regional market understanding to the Mauritanian development. GoGas Holding, a Kamieniec Wrocławski-based Polish company established in 2017, contributes specialized expertise in the development, construction, and operation of natural gas assets, directly aligning with the 365 MW gas plant's technology. This collaboration allows GoGas to extend its natural gas focus into the African continent, while Madkour expands its diversified infrastructure portfolio into Mauritania. The combined experience of Madkour's broad infrastructure background and GoGas's specific gas sector knowledge provides a complementary skill set for the Nouakchott facility.
