Matrix Energia signs BESS supply agreements with commercial and industrial clients including Assaí Atacadista and Grupo Ritz
Matrix Energia signed multiple behind-the-meter (BTM) battery energy storage system (BESS) supply agreements with commercial and industrial clients, including Assaí Atacadista and Grupo Ritz, as part of its plan to expand installed capacity from 96 MWh to 250 MWh by December 2026. The company currently operates 117 BESS units across 12 economic segments, with applications ranging from peak load smoothing to diesel generator replacement and grid stability enhancement. Assaí Atacadista will deploy five BESS units across Bahia and Pará states to support high-consumption operations, while Grupo Ritz's three BESS installations in Alagoas will reduce contracted demand charges and enhance energy security for premium hospitality facilities. Matrix's BESS as a service model eliminates client CAPEX by covering engineering, deployment, real-time monitoring, and performance guarantees through fixed monthly payments with modular scalability. The company's integrated operations center, developed in partnership with Huawei Digital Power, ensures remote monitoring and optimization of assets across Brazil's diverse industrial and commercial landscape.
