Meta signs agreement with Amazon Web Services for large-scale Graviton5 deployment
Meta signed a partnership agreement with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deploy tens of millions of Graviton5 CPU cores to support agentic AI workloads. The deal positions Meta as one of the largest Graviton customers globally, with the ability to expand procurement to meet future AI compute demands. AWS launched Graviton5 CPUs in December 2025, featuring a 33% reduction in inter-core communication latency and a five-times larger cache than its predecessor, enabling efficient scaling of CPU-intensive workloads. Each Graviton5 chip contains 192 cores, meaning a deployment of 10 million cores would require just over 52,000 chips. The agreement follows AWS CEO Andy Jassy's disclosure that two major customers had requested all available Graviton instance capacity for 2026, highlighting surging demand for the hardware.
