Molinos Basile, an Argentine milling company with over 80 years of history, signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with YPF Luz to source 2,200 MWh of renewable energy annually from the El Quemado solar park. The deal covers 50% of Molinos Basile's electricity demand at its Chacabuco plant in Buenos Aires province, leveraging El Quemado's 305 MW capacity. The project, located in Las Heras, Mendoza, features over 500,000 bifacial solar panels and reached commercial operation for its first 100 MW in December 2025. El Quemado is Argentina's largest solar park and the first renewable energy project approved under the RIGI framework, which offers fiscal and customs incentives for investments exceeding $200 million. The PPA builds on YPF Luz's existing renewable energy supply agreements, including a 2023 deal with Molinos Río de la Plata to extend clean energy coverage to 80% of its demand by 2030.
